Transitory life

Air temperature 26F, wind near calm, mostly cloudy. Was able to spot Venus fading and brightening as the overcast rolled along. Power outages in Maine down under 4000, according to the TV news. The year draws to a close. I find myself responding less and less to the outer world.

Hangover lingers

Out on my morning walk, heard a strange noise, got to the next intersection and saw a black SUV with wires hanging off it. I inspected them from a distance and told the driver that they *looked* like cable TV but wouldn't guarantee it. She took my word for it, got out, and disentangled her roof rack. Somebody came out of one of the houses nearby and said it was Comcast.

Storm was last Monday?
