Manna from heaven
Oct. 26th, 2023 11:16 amJust finished sweeping a few hundred acorns off the sidewalk to reduce liability claims. Squirrels can still harvest them from the grass.
And in unrelated news, we just voted absentee, with a lackluster slate of local candidates. At least none of the school board aspirants claimed that they were going to protect parents' rights or other such bullshit, or defund the public schools.

Thursday foliage report
Oct. 26th, 2023 03:25 pmLot of leaves down, some stubborn maples turning rusty rather than red and orange, tamaracks going yellow, oaks sturdy green. Asters still blooming in the absence of a killing freeze, and a few chicory.
No roadkill to report, not even squirrels. No interesting metal birds over at the airport/base. Although OpSec may have the fun stuff parking out of sight.
Temperature got into the middle 60s F, little wind, cloudy but no rain found. May get another ride Saturday, if we can believe the forecast. After that, rain and a sharp drop in temperatures.
