Tuesday floral report
Aug. 22nd, 2023 03:55 pmFirst jewelweed seen, and first of the large brilliant purple asters. They are the exact same tint as the purple loosestrife, tuned for bee eyes, so you have to pay attention.
Also, first monarch butterfly of my summer. I think we have agreed that they count as self-propelled flowers.
No roadkill to report, except a section of road with flaggers and alternating one way traffic. Work on the ditches and driveway culverts.
Got out on the bike, across to the airport and a KC135 doing patterns. C17 parked in the visitors lot. Anyway, got my ride in spite of the wind. Did not die.
