Damp everlasting

Air temperature 65 F, wind near calm, fog and scattered showers. Visibility 1.5 miles at the airport. Plenty far enough to see the chickadee raids on our feeders.

One of the things about being old is that I can remember when a man thought that his religious beliefs meant he didn't have to serve black people in his restaurant. He stood at the door of that establishment with a group of his friends, all holding axe handles, to defend this belief. A few years later, no longer in the restaurant business, he got elected governor of that state.

Back from a morning walk through the soup. No cat friends seen. Did have a mockingbird serenade from two directions at once -- probably a territorial dispute, nowhere as serene as it sounded.

Orange moon risen.

First time I've seen that thing in a week or so. It got fat in the interval.
