Monday floral report
May. 29th, 2023 03:51 pmCanada mayflower on the edge of the woods, barely justifying its name. Multiflora roses at the interstate overpasses, invasive alien plant installed by the highway department. Still some rhodora out in the bog, probably different plants than last report because the flowers don't last long. Home columbine blooming. Drifts of oak catkins falling.
No roadkill, not even squirrels. Did hear redwing blackbirds claiming the marsh and pond over by the old "state hospital" and a mockingbird ruling the golf course. I pity any golfer that gets too close to the nest . . .
Windy, temperature in the 60s F, managed to get my bike ride in. Did not die.
