The blustery day

Air temperature 45 F with wind gusting over 30 mph. Patches of snow pellets/graupel wandering by with partly sunny, petals flying out of the crab-apple tree. Maybe frost tonight.

Large old elm that the woodpeckers were debarking over the winter has gone away, leaving a 3' stump.
