Weather mills grind slow

Air temperature 29 F, wind west about 8 mph, clear sky. Forecast says today will be warmer than yesterday, with less wind. May reach 70 F in the coming week.

Avian neighbors

Had a couple of eagles headed down our block this morning, aiming for a marsh -- one adult, one immature. Maybe showing last year's chick out of the nesting territory? Also, song sparrows starting to claim the hedge of the neighbor at our old house, a sparrow family tradition dating back decades. Original claimants must be long dead, but it is obviously prime real estate.

Bees at our crocus and hyacinth flowers. These are probably native solitary bees with ground nests. Good to see.
