Winter continues

Air temperature 33 F, wind northwest gusting to 30 mph, mostly cloudy. March continues to come in like a lion. Probably has ripped the lamb to shreds and eaten it by now. No lamb stew for you.

I'm afraid that an aging 26" Toro snowblower in a Maine garage won't help with 8' of snow in California. We used to have an engineering battalion in the National Guard with proper equipment, but their mission changed after the Iraq mess. And even they would have just been able to nibble at the edges.

But this is why *Federal* disaster relief matters. I seem to recall Florida politicians who didn't want to help after Superstorm Sandy hit the northeast . . . I suspect they are even less pleased to help California.
