Air temperature 8 F, wind north about 5 mph, clear sky. Thin layer of ice glistening on the trees at sunrise. Storm ended with maybe a quarter-inch of snow, which may have drifted enough for us to bother clearing our driveway. Back to February.
Shoveled the driveway and side entry down to the point where the sun should do the rest -- first part already dark asphalt by the time I finished the end. Maximum depth even in drifted areas was only about an inch. Air temperature 17 F at the airport.
Earworm for the driveway clearance was "Deadman's Curve" -- our road does a 1970s meander a few houses down, icy this morning. Did not see anyone try to take out the strategically-placed utility poles.
Gray squirrel out on the snowbank where there should be sunflower seeds -- staring at me in the window. "Hand over the good stuff and nobody gets hurt."
