Saturday milestone report
Sep. 17th, 2022 01:38 pmDarker large purple asters now blooming, about the last of the noticeable roadside flowers to kick in. Plenty of goldenrod still out there, plus a resurgence of vetch and clovers.
No roadkill beyond a couple of our surplus gray squirrels. No visiting metal birds out at the airport/base.
Got out on the bike after the temperature got up a bit, middle 50s F when I headed out and 62 F when I got back. Long-sleeve top over my usual bike gear handled it. Did not die.
Ride takes me over 1000 miles for the year, a target I used to reach as much as a month earlier when I was young and hardy. Don't know if I'll reach even that level next year, as time marches on and somehow has rendered me Old.
