Damp morning at last

Air temperature 63 F, light north wind, clear sky. We did get about half an hour of serious rain last night, with thunder, the better to disrupt a riverfront concert. I suspect a lot of the rain headed straight into storm drains without soaking in.

Wednesday roadkill report

Flat skunk right where I had to stop for a traffic light. At least it wasn't one of the really stinky ones.

Flowers limited to the Usual Suspects, with the white sweet clover setting seed and the thistles going to fluff.

Rode across town, over and past the airport/base, hill and dale and home. No metal birds parked in the visitors' lot this time. An accumulation of black metal pipe in the old base area, hope that doesn't foreshadow even more construction to dodge. Did not die.

Instead of a hummingbird this morning, we get a hummingbird moth. Yet another wazzit out the window.
