Tuesday floral report
Jun. 14th, 2022 03:43 pmBedstraw blooming, what I think are the first wild roses, cinquefoil and wood sorrel small yellow blooms. Blue flag iris still doing well. The roses aren't the ones in the bog -- those got mowed down to the ground last fall, but are coming back and should bloom in a couple of weeks.
Fresh roadkill limited to a painted turtle out near the bog. Old corpses of porcupine and raccoon still there, if rather decayed. Scavengers slacking off, or sated?
Windy, gusting over 25 mph, but I got out on the bike anyway. Did not die.
