Friday roadkill report
Jun. 10th, 2022 01:10 pmOne yearling (judged by size) raccoon in the raccoon death-zone where I have seen corpses every year. They don't seem to learn. Also, one dead porcupine, full grown, out next to the road through the bog.
Multiflora roses blooming by the interstate crossings, invasive alien plant distributed by the highway department. Maybe yarrow, maybe earliest bladder campion. Multi-flowered version of the yellow hawkweed. Saw a couple of trilliums that had already shed their flowers. Horse-pasture yellow with buttercups. Wince.
Got out on the bike, windier than I would prefer. Did not die. Saw the mowing crew departing as I got back to the house, so we can check that off. Ride takes me to 300 miles for the year.
15.35 miles, 1:20:04
