Air temperature 53 F, wind southwest about 5 mph, partly cloudy. Will attempt a longer bike ride after things warm up.

Since sorrow never comes too late,
And happiness too swiftly flies.
Thought would destroy their paradise.
No more; where ignorance is bliss,
'Tis folly to be wise.

Black locust trees starting their annual campaign to suffocate all air-breathing life. First blue flag iris seen in a pocket marsh near our house. Hop clover, white clover, and birds-foot trefoil blooming on the roadside. Yellow water lilies.

No roadkill to report. A couple chipmunks scurrying along to avoid becoming one with the asphalt.

Slathered on sunscreen and headed upriver on the bike, swinging through the university campus to verify that Younger Son's apartment yet stands, nearly two decades after the Powers That Be informed him that it was due for demolition. Thence home over hill and dale. Did not die. Rain shower wandered through half an hour after I got home.
