Waning crescent moon

Almost like clockwork, they come around while I'm making breakfast. Air temperature 28 F, wind near calm, clear sky. Supposed to cloud up later, with rain this afternoon and colder next week.

Another portent?

Mockingbird in full cry on a wire by the school hedge. I wished him luck in his endeavors. That hedge is prime, both for defensible nest sites and a lot of honeysuckle bushes.
