Air temperature 34 F, wind north about 5 mph, foggy. A few more hours and we can claim to have survived another Maine winter.

Thread on Twitter about how English royalty was and is connected to colonialism and slavery. England *is* colonialism. Goes back as far as the Normans. Ireland, Scotland, and Wales didn't volunteer for the United Kingdom . . .

Flock of mixed blackbirds on my morning walk route, making the usual mixed blackbird racket. Also, crocus leaves showing at our old house. Haven't spotted any here yet, but we do seem to have tulips in prospect.

Premature hopes rise?

Pumped up the tires on the mountain bike and did a couple of miles around the neighborhood. Me and a bunch of kiddies. They stayed on the sidewalk, thank goodness. Not reliable operators. Heard a flight of geese overhead while I was out.
