Aftermath ordeal

Air temperature 7 F, wind northwest gusting to 20 mph, blowing and drifting continues under mostly cloudy skies. Hard to guess how much snow we got -- drifts next to bare asphalt on our driveway. Which I have to go out and clear . . .

Maine winter olympics, snowblower marathon event. Driveway is now usable, including a breakthrough into city roads through a 5' combined drift and plow berm. As an aside to other people who live in snow country, keep multiple doors clear. I couldn't open the side door of the garage against the drifted snow. Garage door worked fine, and the front door was clear due to wind direction.

Break on through to the other side

Cross-corner neighbor is out trying to clear the plow berm on their driveway by shovel. They have a puny electric snowblower also, but it can't take on the job. If I hadn't already abused my over-70 body enough today, I'd take our machine over there . . .
