Monday avian report
Sep. 27th, 2021 03:57 pmWeekend rain left some temporary ponds out near the end of the runway. Which were occupied by at least 30 ducks, probably mallards but ID from a bike at 15 mph and over 50 yards away is vague. Hope none of them get sucked up in jet engines . . .
Taking off from the same runway, a white twin-engine jet with no markings whatsoever. I'm assuming it was a test flight of a plane that the aircraft service company is refurbing, but that wouldn't be the first spook I've seen out there. Also, parked, KC135s and a C-17.
Asters, a few more maples and ash trees turning, annoying people using my roads. Got out on the bike, did not die.
