Dog days of summer

Air temperature 64 F, wind southeast about 3 mph, overcast with scattered fog. Dew point 63 F. May attempt a bike ride this morning, if I can scrounge up the motivation. Rest of the week looks nasty.

Tuesday yucky report

Nothing new in the floral inventory, but did see a few more patches of jewel-weed. And a lot more purple loosestrife. People who imported that stuff and deliberately planted it as an ornamental should have to eat it. All of it.

Roadkill one dead woodchuck on the road near the second Interstate crossing, with a city employee already deploying a plastic garbage bag to remove it for the rites.

No big thrills over at the airport/base -- nothing interesting parked, and only a KC-135 taking off. And a helicopter vanishing into the "ceiling" at rather a low altitude.

Got out on the bike, across town and up over hills and home, without my having to enter that ceiling myself. Did not die. Sun coming out now,
