Wednesday floral report

Thistledown floating on the wind, milkweed pods forming, sumac berries turning red. Excellent galls forming on the goldenrod stems as the gall-fly larvae do their genetic editing.

No roadkill beyond splotches that might have been frogs. Not-roadkill, a probable sparrowhawk/kestrel on a wire. I was going about 25 mph downhill at the time, so ID is based on size and shape, plus location next to fields.

Upriver to the golf course, over to the road through the bog, back home. Did not die.
