Improper weather

Air temperature 70 F, wind south about 10 mph, mostly cloudy. Supposed to get into mid 80s F this afternoon. Intend local bike ride with emphasis on not achieving heat stroke.

Sunday floral report

Swamp candles/yellow loosestrife blooming, beach pea, wild "rambling" roses. I've had my eye on some mullein stalks that looked ready to bloom, but some nasty groundskeeper mowed them. Lots of blue cornflower.

No identifiable roadkill. Bloody smears on the asphalt, yes, and what may have been a flattened porcupine on the other side of the road, week old or more.

Rode up to the country club, over to the road through the bog, back home. Air temperature 78 F when I headed out, 82 F now. Did not die.
