Air temperature 68 F, wind northwest about 8 mph, mostly cloudy. Temperature not supposed to rise much through the day, nothing like yesterday's high of 85 F. May get out on the bike.

Thursday roadkill report

One yearling raccoon at about mile 4 on my bike route, a known raccoon highway. Also flattened crow out in the bog, no sign of what he/she was after. And some stains on the asphalt that I couldn't assign to species.

Shadbush setting fruit, honeysuckle buzzing, new patches of bunchberry sighted. Did not remember to check for the moccasin-flowers, but it may still be too early.

Got out on the bike, upriver and back, did not die.
