Monday floral report
May. 24th, 2021 04:14 pmRhododendrons blooming, bunch-berry on the forest floor, earliest yellow hawkweed. There are a few lawns where the hawkweed always shows up first, one section of one road. No idea why.
No roadkill. Saw a mockingbird chase a crow away from a known mocker area. After the crow got far enough away, the mocker landed on a fence with its tail and head up in a definite "And your mother, too!" posture.
Rode across to the airport/base, getting run over by a couple of KC-135s doing "patterns" again and again. Also, RAF A-400 and USAF KC-135 in the visitors' parking lot.
