Shaking my head at the number of "hurricane" deaths that involved people running generators without ventilation.

Air temperature 58 F, wind southwest about 5 mph, partly cloudy. Wind supposed to pick up later, inimical to bike rides. Will probably slog through it anyway.

Sunday windblown report

No new flowers, but some of the upland maples are starting to turn. Probably drought-stressed. Also, no roadkill. Don't know whether the cleanup crew is more efficient, there are fewer animals this year, or the recession traffic is lighter. Don't think there's any chance the porcupines and skunks have gotten any smarter . . .

Clouds scudding past, wind gusting to 25 mph, scattered showers. Started out to do a figure-8 loop of local rides and got sprinkled a bit coming back into the home zone, so I cut my plans short.
