Air temperature 55 F, light southwest wind, cloudy. We expect to take our atlatl and digging stick and go foraging this morning, avoiding cave bears if at all possible. It has worked okay so far . . .

Just saw a departing bird with the wingbeats and flight pattern of a falcon. Keep America beautiful -- eat a starling for lunch!

Tuesday floral report

First rhodora blooming out in the bog, pretty sure I saw a white moccasin-flower in the woods where they show up each spring, and lilacs and bush honeysuckle flowers are starting to open.

No roadkill seen.

Air temperature 77 F, wind gusting over 20 mph, got out on the bike. Upriver to the functioning overpass, back through highland and bog, did not die.
