Air temperature 31 F, wind north about 13 mph, overcast. Looks like we got about 8" of wet snow overnight, and the city has not yet plowed our street. Have not ventured forth to achieve newspaper.

For Whom the Bell Tolls
by
John Donne

No man is an island,
Entire of itself.
Each is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less.
As well as if a promontory were.
As well as if a manor of thine own
Or of thine friend's were.
Each man's death diminishes me,
For I am involved in mankind.
Therefore, send not to know
For whom the bell tolls,
It tolls for thee.

One crisis at a time, people. Line up, maintain distance, and wait your turn.

Have run the snowblower, cleared the car, created access to a world that does not want access. I think we got closer to 8" of wet snow than the 2"-5" they were forecasting.

You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.
