Air temperature 33 F, wind southeast 7 mph, overcast. Exposed myself to perils grim by fetching the newspaper from our convenience store. Supposed to rain later.

Oh what a relief

Got out for a morning walk in the chill, snow on the radar but not at ground level yet. Stripe-nose trotted out to meet me and accepted as much petting and scritching as my cold hand was willing to provide. Then, as usual, walked with me to the far edge of the next property and sat down to watch me out of sight.

Mad mad mad world

Flipped by the coronavirus news conference on TV (preempted noon news) and saw that they had a live stock-market tracker in one corner of the screen. Gotta keep our priorities here . . .
