Air temperature 53 F, wind N about 5 mph, mostly cloudy. The world is supposed to allow me a bike ride. Want dry roads and more warmth.

The decline and fall

Had to go in the local mall this morning, and a comment from my father came to mind - - "You could have fired a shotgun down the main concourse and not hit anyone."

Aster-swarm report

Full fall roadside, complete with fallen acorns and apples and a touch of yellow starting to show in the tamaracks. A lot of the red maples in the bog have already dropped their leaves, before their upland cousins have started to turn. Another week or two before Foliage Season hits here.

No fresh roadkill.

Temperature got up to 60 F, still cloudy, a bit of breeze, but I got my ride in. Did not die.
