Okay, I've figured out why I don't have Schenectady located in my mental map. That's the place beyond Albany at a complicated interchange on the Thruway that I *don't* want to go to.
Monday roadkill report
One dead woodchuck by the roadside about 10 miles into my route, several bloody patches of asphalt including one with accompanying skunk smell but no corpse.
Lime trees still trying to suffocate everything that breathes, goats-beard and cornflower and tansy by the roadside, cattail heads filling out dark brown. More of the be-damned purple loosestrife.
Not deadly hot, 70s F, so I said goodbye to our departing guests and got out on the bike. Did not die.
