Tuesday floral report
Jul. 16th, 2019 11:12 amPurple loosestrife starting to bloom, damned invasive alien taking over the world. Also lots of cornflower and goats-beard and still defiant buttercups. Milkweed blooming but no monarch butterflies seen yet.
No fresh roadkill. The forces of decay have reduced my Kelly Road porcupine to a pile of quills. Not-roadkill, a chipmunk skittering across the road just up the street from us and a snapping turtle in the brush by the edge of a power-line cut near the bog. Maybe 12" shell.
Got out on the bike, air temperature around 80 F, did not die.
