Another morning

Air temperature 63 F, wind NNW about 5 mph, clear sky. Bike ride scheduled.

Tuesday floral report

Goats-beard blooming (but only in the morning), lupines filling out their flower cones, lots more blue flags in the wet areas. No roses in the bog yet, but our side-yard rugosas have opened a few buds on both the pink and red clumps.

No fresh roadkill.

Got out on the bike, warm but not too windy, got cussed by a red-wing blackbird that thought I got too close to his bugs. Did not die, but I keep getting depressed at my times -- I have ridden this exact route in under an hour, back when I was young and vigorous. Guess I should be glad to still be riding at all.

Odd bird overhead

Was out for my evening check before locking up. We usually have some kind of aircraft passing over, high up, being on the great circle from/to Europe. But this one left the distinctive growl of multiple piston engines.
