Friday floral report

First blue flag irises in boggy spots, probable bunchberry, more of the moccasin-flower orchids. Purple vetch, red and white clover added to the close roadside. Some rugosa roses blooming in town, multiflora roses by both interstate highway crossings.

Roadkill limited to an upside-down turtle on the other side of the road through the bog. Not-roadkill, one adult deer when I turned onto a side road about six miles into my ride. Stared at me for ten seconds or so and then flounced off into the woods.

Windy, temp about 60 F, got out on the bike. Did not die.

Busy little birds

Steady song-sparrow traffic into and out of that cedar bush. I did see a crow land on South Neighbor's porch roof, above the nest area, but it flew on. Crows not welcome . . .
