First lupines and phlox blooming, oaks and locust trees filling in. Japanese knotweed up and advancing toward world domination. No fresh roadkill.

Bald eagle cruising over the far bank of the river at my water break. Saw a couple of other large birds but I was on the move and couldn't get a good view for ID.

Rode upriver to the next bridge, across and down the other side. Got passed by a pack of 10-15 spandex people, didn't try to keep up. They were young and trim and energetic, and I am none of the above.
