No joy in Mudville

Air temperature 53 F, wind south about 8 mph, overcast. May get warm enough and stay dry long enough for a bike ride. That, plus some yard work.

Thursday floral report

First rhodora blooms in the bog, wild calla ditto, think I saw a white trillium or two just opening. Lilacs starting to bloom in town, ornamental fruit trees shedding petals.

No fresh roadkill. Red-wing blackbird made some rude comments at me as I bicycled past *his* cattails.

Air temperature vaulted up into the upper 50s F, wind still south at 15 mph, not ideal bike conditions. Did not die. Ride takes me over 200 miles for the year.
