Air temperature 1 F, wind north about 15 mph, windchill -17. Blowing snow, looks like about 6" so far, hard to tell with the wind. Junco at the feeders early, gone now.
We have a chickadee that roosts under the eaves of the garage, tucked up out of Weather. I keep reminding myself that the species has survived a million years or so of Maine winters . . .
First round of snowblower song in the neighborhood. We could get out and drive if we had to. Which we don't. Air temperature 7 F, wind NNE 20 mph, windchill -13, mixed sleet and snow blowing around.
