Rain morning again

Air temperature 47 F, dew point 46, wind NE about 10 mph, light rain falling. Supposed to be damp all day. October gloomy.

Weather side-effects

Odd summer and the lack of a hard freeze here mean that our maple tree has gone piebald. Individual leaves turn yellow and drop, but the tree stays mostly green.

Collateral damage opportunity?

A holding company is offering to buy and reopen one of our defunct Maine paper mills. They already own and run another, with announced plans to upgrade it. Thing is, the corporate masters are Chinese . . .

Wonder if current trade policy is going to screw that particular pooch.

Chickadee keeps landing and hammering away around the back window here, stashing or retrieving seeds.  Or just checking, that being the Tao of Chickadee.
