Air temperature 71 F, dew point 68, wind ESE about 5 mph, overcast. Bike ride early, before it gets even swampier.

Tuesday floral report

First asters blooming, small white and very pale purple. Other usual suspects by the roadside, including more masses of tansy than I remember. Must like this weather.

Roadkill -- one adult porcupine by the roadside at about mile 10 on the route, one Eastwing tack-puller in the road at mile 6. I stopped and collected that, decent brand and condition. Not-roadkill, one chipmunk zipping across the road and then perching on a planter to look cute.

Got out on the bike and contributed to the humidity, although sweat did not evaporate well. Did not die.
