Air temperature 68 F, dew point 63, wind west about 5 mph, partly cloudy. Working up the energy for a bike ride before we relapse into summer.

Friday butterfly report

Couple of monarch butterflies on my route, first I've seen this year. One was dancing around a milkweed plant up at the golf course. Takeoff and landing, laying eggs? Hope they have enough time to munch, pupate, and transform for the long flight to Mexico.

Nothing new in the floral department -- lots of chicory, tansy, some pink yarrow, thistles gone to seed. Roadkill limited to one red squirrel.

Not steamy hot, 75 F with dew point 55, windy. Got out on the bike, did not die.
