Air temperature 52 F, wind south about 5 mph, scattered clouds and mourning doves. Bike ride before wind picks up?

Corpses of red squirrel, gray squirrel, and snowshoe hare littering the roads, along with no-ID blood patches.
Roses blooming out in the bog, maybe first yarrow, more orange hawkweed, rhododendrons hanging on. A few early day lilies. Probably white sweet clover.
Got out on the bike in advance of predicted wind, encountered repaving preparations at my first cross-road, detoured on to the sidewalk for an offset to the next street. Also, utility work along the road in the next town. Time and distance figures thrown out of whack.
