Spring sunshine returns

Air temperature 45 F, scattered clouds, wind west-southwest about 5 mph. Last night's rain drying off. Bike ride possible?

Friday vernal report

First lupine leaves up, skunk cabbage leaves in the bog, coltsfoot in new areas. A few gray-headed robins have arrived, females migrating separately from the black-headed males.

No fresh roadkill. Dead raccoon out in the bog has vanished -- no idea if the cleanup crew had two legs or four.

Temperature in the 50s F, little wind, got out on the bike. Did not die.
