Still moving

Air temperature 56 F, dew point 54, wind SSW about 5 mph, scattered clouds. We advance on the midpoint of another month, with little to show for it.

A metaphor

The lot where that house used to stand down the street has been regraded, with loam, mulch hay, and seed over the carnage. The place used to have an aggressive stand of Japanese knotweed, invasive alien that some people thought was ornamental. The landscaping scraped that clean.

It is sprouting through the mulch.

Your basic WTF

If you make a comment on the local newspaper site that uses the label certain groups wear with pride, the label the paper uses in its article, your comment gets blocked by the paper for offensive content . . .
