Hitting the reset button

Being self-unemployed at the moment (hey, the construction industry always magnifies economic trends), I lounged slothfully abed until 7:00 AM this morning.  Which was, of course, 6:00 AM as far as light levels and body rhythms were concerned . . .

The seething masses of redpolls also seem to still operate on sun time.  Nobody told them?

I keep expecting them and the siskins and crossbills to vanish -- like Attilla's Golden Horde or the passenger pigeons, such a rapacious lifestyle requires moving on to pastures new every now and then.

The wisdom of the elders

My father told me, long ago* in a discussion of Presbyterian theology and faith versus works:

"One of the few ways we can make the world a better place is by behaving decently toward strangers."

Applies to a lot of things, including the internet.

*Has to have been long and long, as he died over thirty years ago.
