Snow flurries
Feb. 28th, 2009 09:11 amWind has swung around to the north, with the expected result. Overnight high temperature 45 F, temperature now 23 F. Surfaces glazing over -- I felt the difference during my newspaper walk, with wet pavement on the way out and footing greasy on the way back.
In honor of this transition, Wife has declared a furlough on the nature center this morning. She has been requested to take a few days off in this fiscal year, anyway, to trim the budget. Hard times in the non-profit world reflecting the larger economy.
And in one of those obscure mysteries of life, we just had trash pickup today, instead of yesterday. (Yes, we live in the Big City. We have trash collection, instead of having to follow the Rite of the Garbage Run and hauling our stuff to the dump ourselves.)
