Maintenance chores in the frozen north
Feb. 5th, 2009 09:41 amJust climbed the snowbank by the sunporch and knocked off ice cornices that threatened doom to all below. Geometry had reached the point where, if they had fallen naturally, they could have hit the snow (which is window-sill height out there) and rotated back into the glass.
No ambition to be out re-glazing windows in this weather . . .
The "mustard pot" house* up the street has an icicle off the eaves that measures at least 12'.
*So named for the paint colors used.
