Waiting

The humongous new snowblower is supposed to arrive this morning.  Have asked Dealer to call first, as I work in the back bedroom upstairs and am thus Out of Touch with Reality, in more ways than one.  I think I've fixed the doorbell . . .

By making this purchase, I have ensured a lack of major snowfalls for the rest of the winter.  I hope the Public Works budget folks appreciate my efforts on their behalf.

Well, technically . . .

Yes, 11:30 AM is still morning.  Machine swap accomplished.  New machine much more formidable, but does still fit into the allotted niche in our garage.  Now to hope that the added weight doesn't collapse the floor . . .

Well, I have taken several hundred pounds of firewood out and sent them up the chimney, so that should help structural integrity.

(Our garage, being of ancient form, has a wooden floor.  A wooden floor resting on wooden sleepers on the ground.  If I ever hear a loud crashing noise out back, I'll know what happened without bothering to look.  The only question will be the scale of the collapse.)
