Clouds scudded away overnight, taking with them the warm.  18 F now, with windchill 5 F.  And, as usual, many of our neighbors have demonstrated an appalling lack of civic virtue regarding care of their segments of sidewalk.  What was slush and runoff, now is ice.  Wife plans vigilance regarding similar results on the road . . .

Moon was hanging way off in the northwest this morning.  Always seems strange to spot it over there.

I should note, re: statistics, that I have just had a peanut-butter and jelly sandwich without having to scrape out the old jar of peanut butter and open a new one.

This cannot last.

In celebration, I guess I'll go vacuum the sunporch.

According to the evening news, somewhere around 150,000 people in Maine are still without electricity.  Number in New Hampshire is roughly twice that -- they pack 'em denser down there.  (And also got hit harder.)

Temperature outside right now is 13 F/-11 C, with a breeze.  I went for a stroll around the neighborhood and found no cats.
