Rites of Autumn (cont'd.)
Oct. 19th, 2008 01:52 pmRelocated another few bushels of maple leaves, etc, to the back fence line. Neighbor jested that I was wasting my time -- she was referring to the poundage of leaf still attached overhead. I prefer to think of it as pacing. I'll have to move those leaves anyway, sooner or later, unless we want the snowblower clogging up come winter. So, I take the elephant one bite at a time.
Thence to another walk. "A pigeon, a ring-billed gull, and a crow walked into a bar . . ." No, I don't know what comes next, but that was the mini-flock browsing in front of the Garland Street School. Odd assembly.
Temperature upper 40s F, with breeze and sun and woodsmoke in the air. Now to veg out in front of some football games.
