Tuesday roadkill report
Sep. 30th, 2008 11:52 amOne fat old raccoon on the road shoulder, out near the cemetery. Br'er Coon, he look like he jus' sleepin', but he dead.
Still gray, temperature 54 F, but I needed to get out there and use some muscles. More trees have turned, with some of the ash and swamp maples already dropping leaves -- I'd guess 30% "color" at this point, but variable.
No geese this time. We've seen monarch butterflies flapping from aster clump to aster clump, always trending south and west. Get a move on, little bugs . . .
"And I got such a long way to go
"To make it to the border to Mexico . . ."
15.28 miles, 1:08:13
1196 miles for the year
