I always figure that if I break a sweat walking for the morning newspaper, the omens are grim.

Another day in the 80s F, with high humidity and "unhealthy" air quality, the latter a gift from all you helpful people upwind.  Hell, we're probably showing particulate pollution from the California fires by now.  One of the joys of living in the tailpipe of America.

At least we don't have thick haze from forest fires in Quebec this year.  Yet.

Two seasons

Ancient wisdom, hidden (as is often the case) in a jest:  Maine has two seasons -- Winter and July.

It's July.

Spent a couple of hours prospecting my latest downtown renovation project.  This one Wife has christened "The starling graveyard."  Several corpses, scattered hither and yon in advanced decay.  Apparently the openings are too small for pigeons.

Hot and dusty and generally repellent.  Maybe I should have gone the "society architect" route, after all.
