Thursday roadkill report
May. 29th, 2008 10:55 amOne unspecific mammal spread over the asphalt at about Mile 4 of my ride -- could have been raccoon, or somebody's beloved pup or kitty-cat. Possibility of woodchuck, as a few of them do that grizzled-fur look, or there's even a chance of a 'possum, expanding the range north and paying the ultimate price. Also a gray squirrel about a hundred yards on.
Not-roadkill, a great blue heron fishing the cemetery pool. Good to see one there again.
Windy morning, but I decided to get out before worse came along (forecast of gusts over 30 mph today). More rhodora and calla blooming in the bog, ornamental rhododendrons starting to bloom.
15.32 miles, 1:10:29
290 miles for the year to date
